Moscow State University, named after M. V. Lomonosov (Russian: Московский государственный университет имени М. В. Ло моносова), or simply MSU (Russian: МГУ), is one of Russia's leading and largest universities, with a prestigious It is a center of science and culture.

MSU has nine research institutes, 40 faculties, more than 300 departments and many branches in foreign countries (including Switzerland and Azerbaijan). A total of 47,000 people are engaged in education and science at the university, including 32,500 students, 4,500 master's students, doctoral students, researchers and 10,000 preparatory department interns. 4,000 professors and teachers and nearly 5,000 scientific staff work in the faculty and research centers.
